How do I sign up for the Limerick Tunnel Tag?
You can apply online for Limerick Tunnel Tag or you may call the Limerick Tunnel Tag Customer Service Centre and speak with a member of our team on 061 582800 to request that an application pack be sent out to you by post.
What is the Limerick Tunnel Tag?
Limerick Tunnel Tag is the name for the N7’s electronic payment system. As a Limerick Tunnel Tag customer your toll payment is automatically deducted from your pre-paid account by means of a Limerick Tunnel Tag attached to the inside of your windscreen.
How does it work?
A small electronic Limerick Tunnel Tag is placed on the inside of your windscreen. As you approach the toll booth, sensors in the lane will detect your tag, deduct the appropriate toll from your pre-paid account, the traffic light will turn green and the barrier will lift. It is as simple as that! In the Express Lane, you will be able to negotiate the lane at a speed of up to 50kph, leaving a distance of at least 30m from the vehicle in front, without stopping.
Can I use Limerick Tunnel Tag on a motor cycle?
Unfortunately you cannot use Limerick Tunnel Tag on a motor cycle. Limerick Tunnel Tag needs to be attached to the inside of the windscreen of a vehicle, so it is suitable for cars, buses, trucks and vans.
How do I install my Limerick Tunnel Tag?
An installation guide will accompany your Limerick Tunnel Tag. You would affix the Limerick Tunnel Tag to the inside of the windscreen in your vehicle using the self-adhesive strip provided. See: User΄s Guide: Limerick Tunnel Tag
How much does it cost?
Limerick Tunnel Tag is available from as little as an initial payment of 25 times the cost of a single trip for your class of vehicle. When your account reaches the low balance level your account will be automatically topped up by an amount to be specified by you in your application (minimum 10 trips).
Who should I contact if my Limerick Tunnel Tag is lost, stolen or faulty?
If your Limerick Tunnel Tag is lost or stolen, you should contact the Limerick Tunnel Tag Customer Service Centre on 061 582800 or by e-mail: lim.info@the-intolligent.ie Once we have been notified, your tag will be de-activated and will no longer work.
How does a Limerick Tunnel Tag account work?
To set up a new Limerick Tunnel Tag account online, we will need your credit card details. You will be notified by us of the Limerick Tunnel Tag account number. As you use your Limerick Tunnel Tag, your toll will be deducted from your pre-paid account. When your Limerick Tunnel Tag account reaches an agreed low-balance level, the amber light will appear in the lane to indicate that your Limerick Tunnel Tag account will automatically topped up from your bank account or credit card.
What should my automatic top up amount be?
Your top up amount can be chosen by you in your application. There is a minimum top up amount of 10 trips You may change this amount by calling the Limerick Tunnel Tag Customer Service Centre on 061 582800.
Will I get an account statement?
Your balance will be available online. Your transaction statement will initially be available by phoning 061 582800.
Will I get a receipt at the Toll Booth?
No. Your Limerick Tunnel Tag summary statement will provide you with all the relevant information (phone 061 582800).
How many tags can I have on my Limerick Tunnel Tag account?
Private customers typically have one or two tags. There is a limit of 10 vehicles that can be applied for on-line. If you want to apply for more than 10 vehicles, please contact our Service Centre on 061 582800.
How do I receive my tag?
Your tag will be sent to you by post in a sealed, padded envelope or you can call and collect your tag at the main toll plaza.
What happens if I change my vehicle?
Please contact the Limerick Tunnel Tag Customer Service Centre on 061 582800 or lim.info@the-intolligent.ie if you are planning to change your vehicle or if you have already done so.
How do I update my credit card payment details?
E-mail us at lim.info@the-intolligent.ie with

2. the credit card expiry date

Will I need to pay additional charges?

* The monthly account based charge covers the administration and insurance of your tag. In the event of your Limerick Tunnel Tag being lost or stolen, you will be required to pay the first €15, the balance of €25 will be covered by us.
Can I use my Limerick Tunnel Tag on other motorway schemes in Ireland?
Yes, the Limerick Tunnel Tag can be used at ALL toll plazas in Ireland.
Is there a time limit on my Limerick Tunnel Tag credit purchased?
No, you can use your credit over an unlimited period of time. However you will be charged the monthly account fee as long as the account remains open.
How do I close my account?
If you no longer need your account, you can close it by notifying us in writing, an email to lim.info@the-intolligent.ie will suffice, and returning your tag. The remaining balance in your account and the tag deposit will be returned to you.
How much is the toll for disabled drivers?
Specially adapted vehicles driven by disabled persons are exempt from tolls on each toll road in Ireland an also on the Limerick Tunnel. If you want to apply for a pass, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 061 582800.
